Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of updates to my blog recently but I’ve been mega busy with final deadlines these past couple months and the motivarti mentorship! First of all I want to thank you all so much for the HUUUGE amount of support this past month! I gained over 1050 new followers and I’m in total awe! unfortunately I cant thank you all individually! so here’s a huge thanks for everyone (; Secondly I’ve had a few messages I didn’t get chance to answer and I’m super sorry about that, so I’ll answer them in bulk now!

Like wow INCREDIBLE THANKS TUMBLR, I mean I did not expect the tree and leaf tutorial to get that kind of feedback AT ALL, I’m so in awe at how awesome you all are for passing it around and how much it’s actually helping people! Also thank you for over 400 new followers you guys are amazing! I appreciate it so much! I had to turn off email notifications because all the messages backlog killed my internet hah <3 If you inboxed me I’ll get through to answering those messages in bulk if they’re anon and one at a time for others, thank you so much again~
Definitely! Go for it I mean my tablet came all the way from Australia and I still saved £60 haha, make sure the seller has good feedback and policies and you’ll be absolutely fine (:
I use a wacom intuos3 A4, it’s definitely served me well these past 4 years! Currently saving for a cintiq though (: But yeah all I can say really is that I love working on a big sized tablet!
Thank you! And yep! exactly how it is haha, I just drew one base head, then copied it 6 times! I redrew the head for 2 and altered the jaw and cheeks on a couple others to suit the expression since they were pretty exaggerated :) Never fear taking shortcuts sometimes!

I applied to be a Motivarti spring 2013 mentee and huzzah, I got a mentorship! I’m absolutely over the moon and this fantastic chap is going to be my mentor! Link I have a million questions to ask haha
One small step closer to my dreams! I WILL leave this smoggy barren countryside and skip over the pond someday Britain you watch me.
And sorry for repeating myself to my twitter followers/fb friends but damn I’m happy!
It’s no bother! It’s a tiny selection and it’s just what I’ve picked up and collected from fave artists, cool packs etc… but it’s honestly all I use haha, there’s a link on my tumblr page now in my bio text (: anyone feel free to download them!
I wish I could but I’ve been collecting these brushes from all over and modifying my own for over a year now! I can’t remember the original packs haha, I could however make an ABR file of my brushes and give you a download link to it? message again and let me know what you think <:
Awh thank you so much for this lovely message! These honestly make my day <3 Currently I’m a first year BaHons character animation student, started in September! Usually it takes me around 1-3 hours to do a regular piece of environmental work but you know it depends on how focused I am- and I am one distracted person haha.. But when I first started out drawing, it could have taken me up to 12-16 hours! With time and practice I just generally sped up, learnt lots of shortcuts to do things and came up with a process that works best for me (: I use Photoshop cs4 for my digital stuff and ToonBoom animate pro 2 for animation
hmm arty advice… I guess when I was starting out as an artist I was a little lost, had no good direction? Didn’t until the last couple years when I really knuckled down, opened my eyes and started to research stuff I loved! I mean sure, I loved to look at art, admire it and be super inspired, but I never really looked at pieces and styles I loved and thought.. “why is this piece so appealing? is it the textures? the brushes, style? How did they do this?” Etc… Absorb as much as you can! look at lots of different work, reference lots of things, see what makes them tick and try them out for yourself to build up your own style and process! But never forget the fundamentals like figure drawing and life drawing because you’ll find that you refine your skills a lot quicker and more effectively when you understand how life works too I guess! (:
Just hit 600 followers! Thank you guys so much! <3
